We're coming up on the end. Since December 23rd, we've watched 149 episodes of The West Wing. 149 episodes in 24 days. Yay, us! Quite the achievement.
It is the second best drama series I've ever seen, after Six Feet Under. And yes, ege, Sorkin's absence is noticeable, particularly during season 6, but (and this is with five episodes left) season 7 makes up for that.
On a related subject, I find myself irritated that I didn't buy this version of the seven season box set. I will go wipe away the drool now.

Ja ni är duktiga. Vi ligger lite efter med Millenium på typ en månad. 63 avsnitt, 64 med Arkiv X. Eller nåt. Jag tyckte mina ögon var fyrkantiga :)
Men vi har börjat på the Shield nu, fy satan vad den är bra!

Seriously, when you are done with West Wing, check out Gilmore Girls.
I know, I know, the title turned me off for the first five seasons, too, but then I was stripping paint in the living room and there was nothing else on so I gagged and left it... and I immediately went and got the first five seasons on DVD and watched them in a week. Smart, funny (but no laughtrack), plus a genuine appreciation for quality tunesmanship. You will dig, I swear to god.
(Oh, but Amy Sherman-Palladino (the writer) left after season seven, so I can't vouch for anything after that, because I stopped watching. Do you sense a pattern here?)
LadyM: Jag ser vinjetten till West Wing varje gång jag blundar ;) Och ja, The Shield är grymt. Vi har ju fem säsonger till, så det är bara att låna. Sjunde och sista säsongen kommer ut i år någon gång. Gillar Bergman det också?
ege: We actually watched Gilmore Girls when it was on Swedish TV. Not slavishly, but often enough that we've seen a lot of it. I like it, but not as obsessively as other things. Next up after West Wing is Oz, and later this year when season 7 of The Shield is out on DVD, it's time to watch that from the beginning, again.

West Wing var en av de bästa och mest välskrivna serier som visats. Men 149 avnitt på 24 dagar... blir man inte lite konstig i huvudet då? Jag tycket att det räckte med ett avsnitt i veckan.
Fast jag vill ha den i box. Och Hela The Wire. OCh Spanarna på Hill Street. Och resten av Simpsonsboxarna. Och...

Jag har den i box. Sju säsonger, 112 timmar TV, för strax över 600 spänn från engelska Amazon. Handla! Jag har första säsongen av The Wire, ska börja kolla vid tillfälle. Först paus från maratonkollande på serier, sen väntar Oz.
